This is a very important and exciting week for our family.  On Tuesday we will be making a trip to Atlanta to see Dr. Shoffner, Ayden's mitochondrial specialist.  We leave on Tuesday and return on Thursday.  We are excited but also very nervous. We do believe that God has healed Ayden but we get scared about the news that the doctor may share with us.  We know that the terrible disease that strikes a child every 30 minutes will not take the life of Ayden. We are still really unsure about what it may do in the long run. We ask for prayers for safe travels, and for good news.  We are where we are as a family becasue of GOD's grace and the many prayers that we receive every day.
When we return from Atlanta very late thursday night we will not have much time before we get ready for another big event.  A few years ago I became a member of an Indiana University Basketball forum and through all our battles HoosierSportsNation (HSN) has been along for the ride.  They allow me to ask for prayers and to post info about Ayden whenever I want.  They also adopted Ayden as the official mascot.  They wanted to do something very nice for our family one of the members of the board contacted IU basketball office and asked if they could do something for our family.  Their request was denied but somewhere Ayden's story made its way to the attention of head basketball coach Tom Crean.  Much to our surprise I reveived a message that told us that Ayden and our family has personally been invited by Coach Crean to attend the IU basketball game on Dec 21.  That will be so much fun I cannot wait. Our family is so excited and thankful for all of Hoosier  Sports Nation. Thank to IU athletics especially Coach Crean and staff, and to HSN mod OGGY!!!!! Everyday we are reminded about all pain in this world and the bad stoireis that exist, thank you for making us part of a great story of kindess, generosity and concern about a little boy that they have never met. Thank you and GOD Bless
As a parent my heart breaks and goes out to the parents of all the children in Newtown Connecticut.  I do not have words to express how I feel. I have been moved to tears many times this weekend. I just want to hold onto my children even more so. As a teacher I commend the wonderful work of all teachers, administrators and everyone that makes a school possible. I will not editorialize the situation we are all aware of the events, but i do need to get on my soap box for a moment. We live in the greatest country in the world and I have lots of issues with the way in which things are ran.  This is not a political stance it is a stance on what is right and what is wrong with our country. I have done some research and have found the alomost every single incident of a school shooting has occurred since PRAYER has been taken out of public schools. the ACLU is everything that is wrong with this great country. We are so caught up with political correctness that we are allowing this wonderful country to go down the tubes. I am so sick of hearing all the NRA members gripe about the 2nd Amendment. This was written when we were defending our territory and eventually our country from attacks from foreign invaders. The typical "arms" took between :30 and :60 seconds to load, and were not very accurate.  I get it keep your guns that is great go hunting shoot clay pigeons I don't want your guns. But who in their right mind needs a semi or fully automatic weapon.  If you need that type of weapon join the military. Every politician this weekend that I heard speak all said the same thing lets pray for these families, lets pray for the victims lets pray for everyone, which is a great message so then why take it out of the hands of those of us that have such a huge impact on the kids. Why should we just pray for them when tragedy strikes allow us to pray for them and with them everyday. I encourage each and everyone who reads this to pray for all the children  in all the schools, pray for those who instruct your children and if you get a chance tell them thank you and that you appreciate them.  There are not people that would give their own life for the life of your child, teachers have, are and will continue to.  By taking prayer out of the schools we have opened the door for Satan lets put Christ back in our politically correct schools and keep the weapons out!!
