Recently I began reading a book about when God winks at us written SQuire Rushnell. (Excellent Book) The premise is that many times in our life things happen that we pass off as coincedence when in actuallity GOD is winking to us.  He is just saying that hey at this moment right now I am thinking of you.  As I read this book I could not help but think back and remember times in Ayden's life that GOD winked to us and at the time we may not have noticed.  I would love to share with you one of those moments.
In January of 2010, Ayden was diagnosed with DNA Depletion Syndrome and we were told he may not live to see his 3rd birthday.  To say that we were devestated was a huge understatement.  In March we had to go see a dentist because Ayden had some staining on his front teeth.  During our visit we found out what was happening in Ayden's mouth was far more serious than just staining. Ayden's teeth were actually falling apart.  The enamel could be scraped off with the doctors instruments and this was happening on most of his teeth.  We were told that the only things that can be done is to have surgery and repair each and every tooth.  Some may need to be pulled but for all intent purposes Ayden would have a mouth full of Veneers. The surgery would takes sereral hours and Ayden would have to be put asleep for the procedure and this would be the 4th time in less than 6 months.  The issue with his teeth was casued by acidosis from all of the medicine that he was on along with his disease.
After leaving the dentist we were once again upset.  Surgery poses a real risk with Mitochondrial patients, many have very adverse effects to being put under. When we left we stopped by a local store and did a little shopping we had some time to kill beofre we were meeting Granny for lunch. Like most 2 year olds Ayden wants everything that he sees.  Luckily for us if we let him hold it while in the cart he is fine and will let us put in back on the shelves.  The funny thing is we have to put it "where it belongs." On that particular day Ayden found a shopping cart and he wanted to do some shopping of his own.  He and I went off to so shopping. Ayden went up and down every isle but was not putting anything in his cart. We finally made it to the greeting cards and Ayden loves to look at the card and usually will pick several that he "has to have." Today Ayden looked through the cards and picked up one card.  Not one with Buzz or Woody no Spongebob not even his favorite Thomas the Train, instead he picked up one card that was green and not particularly attractive to a 2 year old.He put it in his cart and then proceeded to find mommy.  The card fell out of his cart and I picked it up and it simply said; 'Behold, I will bring you health and healing; Jeremiah 33:6  At that moment I felt it was a good sign and we decided to buy that card.  After lunch we went home and in the mailbox was a card from the Vatican that let us know that someone had taken the time to ask for Prayers for Ayden.  For the next 60 days the Vatican would be praying for Ayden.  In the card the first prayer listed was Jeremiah 33:6.  My eyes filled with tears, and goosebumps covered my body.  I could not muster the words to tell Becky what I believe had happened.  I truly believe that GOD was speaking directly to us and used 2 seperate greeting cards to convey the message.  A little wink!! Of the thousands of cards in the store what are the odds Ayden picks that one.  He was directed to do it and to let us know that he was going to be ok.  Sometimes GOD sends us little subtle messages and other times he has to hit us over the head to see what is going on around us.  I thank GOD for giving us that message and it truly did help us to relax and know down deep that Ayden is going to be fine.  Thank you GOD!!

Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
~ Philippians 4:6

This is a verse that I am using right now in hopes of finding an answer to something that is eating at me.  About a month ago Ayden and Becky were in the back of the van and I was driving. Ayden loves to look at all the stars at night and just as it was getting dark they found the first star.  With all of our kids when we see the first star we always ask the kids to make a wish.  We have done that so many times with Ayden and we never ask what he wishes for but on this night I did. The answer broke my heart and I have been trying to get beyond it but with not luck.  He simply said, "all I want Daddy is my own room."  Over the past month or so he has told Becky and I that many times, and even asked Santa for his own room with his own bed for Christmas.  Since the time Ayden came home with us he has had health issues.  The firsst night I sat up all night and watched him breath while he was in his crib next to our bed.  His breathing issues were a major concern and we wanted to always know that he was ok. From that night on he has just always slept i bed with us.  Now that he is 4 and wants his independence, and Bubby and Sissy both have rooms then why can't I is the question that gets asked.  How do you tell a 4 year old that so badly wants his own room that right now our House is too small and that we cannot afford to add on a room or to move to a bigger house?

Last night my sister had 3 of her friends come over and hang out. Dad grilled
